Light and quick-pointing, Henry .410 lever action shotguns now feature side loading gates for expediently topping off the magazine while in action. Six-shot tube magazines can also be loaded through the front of the tube and unloaded rapidly without having to cycle shotshells through the action. Low in recoil and report, these shotguns match the manual of arms of the centerfire Henry rifles for the instantly familiar feel.
Based on our blued steel-framed .45-70 lever action, these smoothbores and chambered for 2.5” shells only to enable rapid cycling with short-throw levers. Visually, they are striking: deeply blued, dark straight-grained American walnut furniture, pistol grip wrists, checkering fore and aft, sling swivel studs, and a good thick non-slip ventilated black rubber recoil pad. Two versions are offered, the full-length and the compact.
The longer Henry .410 lever action shotgun comes with a blued 24? round barrel that’s factory-threaded for Invector-style chokes. A full choke tube is supplied, and additional options are available from the Henry store. The high-visibility front brass bead is perfect for wing-shooting clays or birds alike. The long barrel makes for a slightly milder report and stretches the effectiveness of .410 shotshells to the max.
The Henry .410 lever action shotgun is a more compact configuration with a 20? round cylinder bore barrel, ideal for brush hunting with birdshot, defense with buckshot, or harvesting small deer with slugs. Semi-buckhorn rear sight, adjustable for windage and elevation, combined with brass bead front post sights, makes for very accurate shooting. A little lighter than its 24? counterpart, this shotgun is easier to carry in the field or handle in tight quarters. The adjustable sights enable matching the patterns of any shot load and points of impact of any slugs. This firearm lets you handle small game like rabbits or birds for the pot, and varmints like fox, coyotes, and pest rodents at moderate ranges.
This model works well for introducing juniors to shotgunning without off-putting heavy recoil. Depending on the task at hand, they work equally well for easing in beginner shooters and filling the specialists’ game bag or clay game scorecard. Whatever your small-bore shotgun focus is, Henry have it covered with these fast-handing .410 Henry lever actions.
